Job Description:

DRUPAL DEVELOPER

Live in the SOUTH BAY? DON'T COMMUTE!!!! Work at an amazing company just minutes from your home!! 

As the DEVELOPER on the team you will play a key role in our growing Drupal technical support group. This group is in the midst of the migration of its sites to a new Drupal front end and is looking for a star developer with excellent communication skills who can make significant contributions to this exciting initiative.

 

Our ideal candidate will strive to be part of the SOLUTION by contributing to permanent solutions to improve our technology and be a true TEAMPLAYER and LEADER who aspires to help others grow technically.

You will be responsible for key contributions to publication sites, working with a wide variety of HighWire staff on many varied joint efforts. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying, documenting and communicating solutions to others, including internal staff as well as to customers directly.

Drupal Developer Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and troubleshoot solutions for specialized sites using industry standard technologies, particularly Drupal, CSS and JavaScript, but also including XHTML, XML and scripting languages, particularly PHP, but also including Perl, Python, or Ruby.
  • Assess project requests and develop clear, accurate technical approaches for project work/solutions that will be developed both locally and offshore.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and/or automate technical solutions so that job functions can be performed more efficiently.
  • Mentor other team members, both locally and offshore, in Drupal design and implementation approaches. This includes contributing to detailed written documentation and identifying and contributing to key curriculum needed for the team.
  • Participate in technical reviews of code â€" both code developed by local and offshore staff.
  • Communicate frequently with team members (both orally and in writing) to coordinate work efforts, and to provide information about project status, schedules, progress, design issues, and decisions.
  • Participate in direct discussions with publication management and publishers to clarify technical work, firm up design issues and provide technical options for their requests.
  • Work independently and as part of dynamic teams to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Regular and special project work may require design and development of mockups, prototypes, working models, as well as production applications.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA in computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1+ years of Drupal development experience in a leadership capacity as well as technical and practical experience building Drupal sites as well as experience applying CSS and JavaScript solutions to meet business needs.
